Kong-Chen (K.C.) Chen

Kong-Chen (K.C.) Chen founded Entrantech Inc. in 2021. He has diversified career including integrated circuit (IC) wafer processing, testing, device characterization, design and management, plus printed circuit board design and surface mount product manufacturing in Silicon Valley, California.

K.C. co-founded Wintec Industries, Inc., served as CTO of the company, and represented the company to serve as a Board of Director in JEDEC. During this period, K.C. proposed the precision placement of a component on a target platform by using Through Silicon Via (TSV) and the use of alignment chain for the integrity test of precision placement (Provisional appl. No. 60/652,217, filed on Feb. 10, 2005, continuation appl. No. 11/351,418, now Pat. No. 7,928,591), which has had a profound impact on the semiconductor industry.  K.C. is also interested in a solution to integrate the nonvolatile (NV) memory and the random-access memory on a single platform with a parallel NVDIMM architecture, applicable for memory module and chip-let stacking.

With a passion for bringing good things to life, K.C. founded Entrantech to realize a direct current (DC) ubiquitous environment, by leveraging the alternating current (AC) infrastructure with decreasing reliance on AC power. His vision is for DC power to be available to everyone everywhere in order to minimize energy waste and to protect our green earth. K.C. also envisions the use of swappable battery modules for electric vehicles (EV) to resolve mileage anxiety.

K.C. received M.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at Austin, M.S. Physics from the University of Cincinnati, and B.S. Physics from the National Central University, Taiwan, Republic of China. K.C. is a senior member of IEEE. He also enjoys nature and hiking in his leisure time.
